Company Philosophy
Realistically, the old adage, “You only get what you pay for” certainly stands true, particularly in the building industry. Hawksley Constructions however is proud to provide quality in materials, workmanship and administration for a very reasonable and cost effective price. If a tight budget is part of the clients agenda, then Hawksley Constructions can facilitate this, however alternatively if a high quality finish is required Hawksley Constructions are one of the very few companies who can readily provide a standard well above that of many other builders.
Integrity is the key word. Hawksley Constructions have a select client base, and is performing work for the same clients on a repetitive basis due to the trust and understanding, that only comes through the successful completion of previous
projects.
Hawksley Constructions can provide design feasibilities and work closely with all technical consultants to furnish the client with easy solutions to difficulties, that may arise during the course of the project. Following the completion of the project and the obligatory maintenance period, Hawksley Constructions guarantee their work indefinitely. Many items are attended to, free of charge to the client, well after many other builders have permanently left the
scene.
All employees and carefully selected team of sub-contractors are retained due to their specialist services in their relevant fields of operation. Hawksley Constructions are easily able to ascertain the ability of tradesmen and adamantly refuse to use those that do not meet their strict standards.

Company Expertise
Hawksley Constructions Pty Ltd is administered and coordinated totally by,
Managing Director, Phillip
Hawksley. He has an accomplished understanding of practical techniques in construction and
associated business activity. This enables him to retain total control over all aspects of design
details, construction methods, tradesmen skill and the opportunity to deal personally with
the client.
Hawksley Constructions holds
a current 'Builder-Open' licence for building work on all classes of buildings.
For an extremely minimal cost, a design feasibility can be provided to the client,
prior to commitment to a project. The fundamental sketch drawn to scale, enables the
client to envisage the size, scope and potential of the proposed structure, prior to
engaging professional technical services.
A budget estimate can be produced utilising the design feasibility. This
figure however is dependent largely upon the quality of fixtures, fittings and workmanship
required. When full working drawings and specifications are available an extremely
accurate quotation can be produced with data breakdowns. These can be formulated using a
variety of recipes, depending on the extent of the information base required by the
client.
An all inclusive scope
of work can be produced, in such
detail, as to complete the project with little or no variation from the contract
sum. Once the design details and the clients requirements are determined a
comprehensive schedule can be provided utilising MS Project to formulate charts
incorporating resource allocation, etc. The schedule is provided to all
contractors and suppliers prior to commencement of the project.
Phillip Hawksley has a diverse background in most fields of construction
and has worked in close association with various technical services such as engineers,
architects, quantity surveyors, building inspectors etc. This enables a smooth running
trouble free relationship with all involved.
Hawksley Constructions are
also able to provide a total
project management package incorporating all of the components mentioned above. This
can generate project expedience and understanding in an entirety enabling the client to
comprehend and maintain a close scrutiny of the project from beginning to end. The project
manager operates on a predetermined fee, based on industry accepted rates, and if preferred all relevant data related to the
project can be furnished to the
client and they are able to participate in all phases of the project, including
sub-contractor and supplier selection and scrutiny of quotes, in affiliation with the
project manager. However they also have the option to withdraw, worry free, and allow the project manager to
coordinate and source contractors and oversee the project with their best interests in mind. This method can also
provide a number of cost savings in comparison to the tender system. Project
management is becoming an increasingly popular method of construction administration, particularly for difficult projects where the
builder would find it necessary to include additional costs as contingencies. It provides the opportunity for the project
manager/builder to operate alongside the client and in their best interests, negating the proliferation
of debatable variations and disputes that can sometimes arise, particularly on
projects where latent conditions are prevalent and pertinent decisions cannot be
made prior to commencement.
